Fire Department Management

Fire Department Management programs will provide support for fire chiefs and officers at the administrative level with creating policies, providing guidelines, planning and acquisitions of apparatus and equipment.

There are 11 Fire Department Management programs currently in development with the NIFSC Project.

1. Fire Department Assessment

Support service utilizing a standardized assessment tool to identify opportunities to enhance fire department service delivery

2. Fire Officer Training

Accredited fire officer training based on NFPA Fire Officers (level 1-4)

3. Policy and Operational Guideline Support

Support service to assist in the development of policies and standard operational guidelines utilizing appropriate industry standards and required community or regulatory compliance

4. Policy and Guideline Training

Accredited fire management training in the development and application of policies and standard operational guidelines.

5. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program Support

Support service for creating or enhancing fire department OHS policies and regulatory compliance

6. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program Training

OHS training in the development, management, and compliance of regulatory guidelines

7. Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Training

CISM training is focused on the awareness, identification, and mitigation strategies to prevent or minimize the mental health impact to first responders

8. Training Plans Support Service

Support service to assist in development of operational and administration training plans

9. Capital Equipment/Apparatus Acquisition Support

Support service to perform apparatus/equipment requirements, develop request for proposals (RFP), review vendor RFP responses, development of acquisition contracts, procurement schedules, and final delivery verification

10. Fire Service Equipment Acquisition Support

Support service to perform fire service equipment requirements, develop request for proposals (RFP), review vendor RFP responses, development of acquisition contracts, procurement schedules, and final delivery verification including airport and interface equipment

11. Mutual and Automatic Aid Agreement Support

Support service for fire departments developing mutual or automatic aid agreements including operations, communications, risk, regulatory, and insurance
