Fire Inspection Services

Inspection programs are designed to identify fire-related risks in communities and assist community leaders with minimizing these risks. They will also help provide building and equipment inspections.

There are eight Fire Inspection Services programs currently in development with the NIFSC Project.

1. Fire Code Inspection Services

Fire inspection services for communities that require fire inspections for residential pre-occupancy permits, public gathering buildings, health or education facilities, industrial facilities, special events, or ad-hoc inspection services

2. Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Maintenance Services

Fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance services required by communities to meet regulatory, insurance, or community adopted standards

3. Fire Inspector Training (Level 1)

Accredited fire inspection training to the NFPA Level 1 standard

4. Fire Inspector Training (Level 2)

Accredited fire inspection training to the NFPA Level 2 standard

5. Provincial Building Code Training

Accredited provincial building code training for the interpretation and application of provincial building codes

6. National Building Code Training

Accredited national building code training for the interpretation and application of the national building code

7. Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) Inspections

WETT inspection services for communities that require WETT inspections for insurance, installation of appliances, or community maintenance standards

8. Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) Inspector Training

Accredited WETT training and mentorship required to meet the national WETT certified inspector’s standard
