In recognition of Fire Prevention Week last October, Indigenous children across Canada were invited to participate in a National Fire Safety Poster Campaign.
Over 80 children SERVED UP FIRE SAFETY IN THE KITCHEN with their entries to the campaign, which was put on by the Aboriginal Firefighters Association of Canada (AFAC).
Artwork submitted from each region was entered into the national contest. Each year, the AFAC Board of Directors judge the national contest.
Students were invited to create artwork and submit it to one of five categories. Eight different Indigenous schools are represented among the 82 entries. First place winners in each category receive a computer for their school and students placing first, second, third and honourable mention receive technology prizes. Prizes will be mailed to schools shortly.
